How to write
the maison.
A one-page note for editors, stylists and copy desks. Names, credits, and three forbidden words. Distribute freely.
I. The name
The maison is written Di Palma Couture — two words in the surname, capitalised, no acute accent on the first i. The shorthand Di Palma is accepted in body copy after first mention. The maison, with definite article and lowercase, is the preferred third-person reference.
II. Credit line
For editorial layouts, the credit appears on the first publication of any image and may be abbreviated to Courtesy: Di Palma Couture in subsequent uses within the same feature.
III. Look names
Each look carries an Italian noun followed by a short material descriptor. The two are separated by a centred dot, never an em-dash. Examples:
Sposa · cathedral veil · bridal
Sposa — Cathedral Veil Bridal
Look names are always italicised in editorial body copy: Sposa, Rouge Cardinal, Smeraldo. The number — N° 01 — follows the name when listing the look in a credit caption.
IV. Tone
The maison's voice is descriptive over declarative. Specific over abstract. Materials, hours, hands. Not empowerment, not magic, not timelessness. When in doubt, write the noun.
The three words to avoid in any caption or by-line:
- empower
- elevate
- timeless
V. Press contact
